Welcome
Congratulations! You have found the number one community-oriented blog on Asian Americans, body image issues, and eating disorders.
Not only are we number one, we are the only one dedicated to this subject.
So what is Thick Dumpling Skin, exactly? As you can read from our “About” page, this blog was created as a place for the Asian Pacific American community to discuss a very important issue. Poke around the site some more and you’ll find Resources, our Facebook/Twitter pages, and the most important link of all – Contact information. This is where you help submit the content that will make up this site.
You don’t need to have experienced an eating disorder to contribute. If you’ve ever felt too skinny, too fat, guilty about what you ate or didn’t eat, been on a diet, felt the pressure to look a certain way or size, etc. we want to hear about it. If you know someone else in the APA community who is suffering and would like to express your concern, this is the place to do it. Have an opinion on the physical standards placed on Asian men and women? We want to know!
You don’t even have to write an essay – a poem, song, video, photograph, drawing, etc. are all welcome.
We would also love any tips or suggestions you may find relevant. Since this is the first blog on this topic, we need all the help we can get.
Sign up on for our mailing list, subscribe via RSS, and check back often! We can’t wait to explore what gets under our skin with you.

Love,
Lisa and Lynn (Dame Dumplings)
